• Merseyside Passenger Transport Executive director general Leslie Latter is retiring on November 3 after 10 years in that position.
The director general position is now being advertised.
Latter joined Merseyside as director of finance and administration in 1974, and became director general three years later.
During his terms as director general Zone Ticket and Saveaway ticketing systems were introduced, bus garages were rebuilt and refurbished and the Loop and Link underground railway was completed.
