• A clutch-release mechanism has been developed by Ransorne Hoffmann Pollard Ltd, 76 Jermyn Street, London SW1, that eliminates the mechanical linkage between the stave cylinder and release bearing of a hydraulically operated system. A modified form of slave cylinder is located in the housing co-axial with the transmission axis, and the release bearing is carried on the annular plunger of the cylinder.
