• Fare boxes have been introduced on two routes in the North Shields area of Northumberland to speed o m o services run by the Northern General group. It is believed to be the first time that this system of fare collection has been employed in Northumberland.
The correct fare, checked by the driver, then falls into a sealed container. No tickets are issued, but the drivers give change, if necessary.
