Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

kT THE VBRA (Vehicle Builders and Repairers) conference and exhi)ition last week, York revealed three new products.

The first is a load-restraint ;ystem for York's Envoy grp van. iixing load restraint systems to irp bodywork has always been a )roblem for manufacturers, but vith York's system the grp )anels are left unaffected be;ause the fixing points are at the op and base of the side walls.. The steel kickstrip, a feature of he Envoy design, is pre-drilled ind steel angles are fitted to the nside of the trailer's cant rails. he restraint devices can then be ixed to these location points without effectively reducing the internal width of the van.

Different types of devices are available, including diagonal webbing straps with over centre buckles, telescopic shoring poles, or webbing nets. If required, the system can be fitted to the rear part of the van only.

Anthony Loaders Ltd, the York subsidiary tail-lift manufacturer, exhibited its new products on Stand 3 at Solihull. The Safe-Ray is an infrared beam device which automatically halts an ascending tail lift if anything overhangs the front of the platform, It should prove particularly useful in preventing injury to the operators' feet.

Only when the obstruction is removed can the tail lift be operated again. The beam is emitted across the full width of the vehicle just below the platform level.

The Safe-Ray is an optional extra on Anthony Loaders tail lift and adds £150 to the price.

Another new device from Anthony Loaders aimed at making tail lifts safer is the Arrestor. It works on a similar principle to inertia reel seat belts, and prevents a tail lift from dropping to the floor if its cables snap. This too is an option on all new C-Series Anthony Carrimore tail lifts and is priced at £100.
