Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Q[was delivering a container to a port early one morning when the dock foreman told me I could not get out of the cab, because 1 did not have the right clothing on, and I could not stay in it under the straddle carrier. To solve the problem, I let someone else drive the unit. Is this just bureaucracy run riot?

ANo. Under the "Docks Regulations 1988 (S11988 No 1655)" made under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, high visibility (fluorescent or reflective) clothing must be worn in those areas of dock of a hazardous nature.

When you are parked in a straddle carrier area or grid waiting to load or unload, you must not stay in the cab.
