OPERAToRs can expect better value for money in testing. and also higher enforcement levels on the road when the Department of Transport's vehicle inspectorate completes its restructure next month. it was announced this week.

The restructure which includes moving vehicle examiners, testers, in and administrative staff out of the present traffic area groupings into 53 districts will save £t million in costs over the next 10 years, VI director Ron Oliver told CM.
