in Dundee in the Tayside Regional Council CM vehicle evaluation were transferred to Dundee's busy routes 20 and 22 on February 3.
During the period November 19 to January 13 the standard SCG Transmission Volvo B55 was the most reliable bus. It covered 5155 miles and suffered 2.7 faults per 1000 miles.
This bus, Tayside fleet number 273, returned 5.5mpg and covered 2100mpg of oil. Its sister vehicle, equipped with Voith transmission, returned 5.7mpg, covered 4415 miles and went 4500 miles on a gallon of oil. It suffered 4.3 faults per 1000 miles.
The MCW Metrobus and Dennis Dominator both recorded 2.8 faults per mile. The Metrobus returned 6.2mpg and covered 3000mpg of oil. The Dennis returned 5.9mpg and covered 950mpg of oil. The MCW Metrobus ran 3887 miles and the Dennis 4261 miles during the period.
