Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Malcolm Harrison is auctioning hook-loader and skip wagons formerly used to carry household waste in Cumbria. Kevin Swallow reports.

F()Rowing Cumbria County Council's decision to terminate its household waste contract with Barrow-in-Furness-based CAW, at least 17 vehicles will be up for auction.

The trucks include 02 and 03-registered Foden Alpha tractors, 8x4 and 6x4 rigid hookloaders, drawbar hook-loaders, ejector trailers and skips.

The sale takes place at AW's site on Walney Road, Barrow, this Saturday (17 February) starting at 10.30am.

The vehicles being auctioned worked solely on the council contract; CAW continues to operate its general skip-hire and waste.management business.

The contract was terminated by the council during a joint police and trading standards investigation, of which details have not been made public for legal reasons.

The work is now undertaken by council-owned waste firm Cumbria Waste Management as an emergency measure until a new contract is put into place covering the seven household waste recycling centres across the South Lakeland area.

A council spokesman confirmed that 21 site attendants and seven drivers have been transferred from CAW to Cumbria Waste Management. u
