The Houdaille Hydraulic Suspension Co.; Ltd., 41, New Bond Street, London, W.1, advise us that the Thornycroft 30-ewt. chassis which are being supplied to South African Railways are being equipped with their system of suspension by the local Thornycroft agent. It has been found that these shock absorbers give improved suspension apart from being able to withstand the gruelling conditions of service which prevail in certain parts of South Africa.
