• Tolls on the Humber Bridge should be slashed instead of increased, the Road Haulage Association will tell a public inquiry into the Humber Bridge Board's proposed 40'. rise in tolls.
At the weeklong inquiry, which begins on 9 September, the RHA will ask for a 50°u reduction on the present £10.90 toll for trucks with more than four axles. An inspector appointed by the Government will hear the evidence before deciding the bridge's final charges.
The Freight ransport Association has already said it will oppose any increase in the Humber Bridge tolls (CM 1-7 August),
