Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Two artics were granted on a new A licence to J. R. and G. T. Cadwallader, of Oswestry, • in Shrewsbury on Monday. The application was heard by the West Midland LA, Mr, J. Else. Objections by BRS Ltd. and Direct Transport were met by the deletion of plastics and foodstuffs from the normal user being applied for.

Mr. J. R. Cadwallader said that at present eight vehicles were being operated, all on A licence. The gross turnover of his business had increased by £32.000, from £47,000 a year. to £79,000 a year, between June 30 1968 and June 30 1969. Two extra vehicles had been added to the fleet in this period. A letter from the Castle Brick Co. Ltd. was presented in support of the application. Mr. Cadwallader said that he carried for Castle Brick to Northfleet in Kent.

When asked by the LA who he would carry cased cars for, Mr. Cadwallader said that he would take the cars to Dagenham for the Ford Motor Company.

Mr. C. Neale, transport manager of the Jay's Group of Companies, another customer of Cadwallader, said that the Group's business was constantly increasing. A new depot had recently been opened in Coventry and two more were planned 'for the future. Mr. Cadwallader would be asked to carry to the London and Coventry depots with back loads to Welshpool. The Group would require a substantial share of the .extra two vehicles.
