• Daf Trucks Is jettisonDig exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) techniques in favour of urea-based catalytic conversion in the run-up to Euro-4.
The firm had planned to use EGR with variable turbocharger geometry to cut nitrogen oxide emissions from 2005 in line with the tougher standard, followed by use of a DeN0x cat to meet the even tougher limits of Euro-5 in 2008.
Due to better-thanforecast urea supplies Dal is moving direct to the DeN0x system. DeN0x Is expected to cut fuel use by 5% over EGR.
