NO RADIUS RESTRICTION YET FOR HIRE CARS

THERE have been announcements in the Press that the radius of operation of hire cars is to be restricted to 25 miles. We have been informed by the Passenger Vehicles Operators' Association that although this matter has been under discussion with the Ministry of Transport, no final decision has yet been reached. .

We understand that an early suggestion was 10 miles for hire cars and five miles far cabs, and a later one 15 miles • for each, but the matter is still under review.
