Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• The London Liner service between London and Eastbourne — launched last May — ends on March 28, and the service between London and Birmingham — launched last March — is under review following the withdrawal of London Coaches from the two services.

West Midlands Travel, which jointly operates the London to Birmingham service with London Coaches, is planning to continue the service on its own. A spokesman says: "It will take a few days for us to finalise modifications to the service, but as far as we are concerned the loadings on the morning service from Birmingham to London, and the evening service returning to Birmingham have been good, and they are operated by us."

Eastbourne Coaches, joint operator of the Eastbourne to London service, has pulled out.

No decision has yet been taken about the vehicles used on the London Liner services. London Coaches initially operated three Daf MB Duple Caribbean-bodied coaches on the service, leased from Daf dealer Stanley Hughes, and later switched to MCW Metroliner double-deck coaches.
