FURNITURE REMOVALS BY CO-OP.

WHEN the Stocks bridge Co-operative Society, Ltd., applied last week for a B licence to cover ordinary furniture removals for members within five miles,. they were opposed by a haulier, Mr.J. W. Masters, Barnsley. Mr. Masters told' the Yorkshire Deputy Licensing Authority, Mr. J. H. A. Randolph, that he Was afraid the society would expand their furniture removals if the application were granted.

Mr. Randolph replied that the society had stated they did not wish to expand, as it was not part of their policY. He had made a note of this and had treated it as a declaration. The application would be granted because there was no covered vehicle available in the area for that type of work, and the nearest furniture van was five miles away.
