" Ten per cent. of you C-licence holders have never told us you have given up your vehicles since Suez," he added. "According to our records you still have a vehicle on C licence, and we might need it in an cmergency. This is a serious matter' and it needs attending to at once."

Mr. Wharton's application was granted.

WHEN Sheffield City Council discussed the purchase of a coach last week, they confirmed an assurance given by the transport committee to the Passenger Vehicle Operators' Association and Sheffield United Tours, Ltd., that there was no intention of launching into private-hire work on a greater scale. The vehicle would be used within the powers of the transport department,
