E Channel Tunnel safety is in the spotlight again following an incident last week when a Eurotunnel shuttle train divided after a coupling broke,
The train, which had travelled from Folkestone, was leaving the tunnel on the French side when the incident took place. Hundreds of passengers were left stranded inside the tunnel.
Eurotunnel, which has launched an investigation into the incident, says that initial inquiries suggest It was a "one-off".
Safety in the tunnel has been taking centre-stage since the tunnel opened in 1994. Two years after the opening a fire on a train destroyed 14 out of 29 lorries.
