• Gateshead-based GoAhead Northern has bought five new Alexander-bodied Leyland Olympian doubledeckers, which join over 80 ECW-bodied Olympians in the fleet. Go-Ahead has already bought 12 Leyland Lynxes and 14 Optare Deltas, as well as a large number of minibuses this year. Total investment in new buses for 1989 is nearly £3 million.
