Compared with the Astra Van, which is still available to operators less worried about maximum cube and cargo capacity, the Astrantax offers 24 per cent more load space in its 2.32m body (1.87m3 in the Astra Van) and can carry up to 120kg more payload.

'Fwo basic Astramax models, both using the same body shell, are offered — the 365 and 560. These designations refer to the maximum unijOrmly distributed payload (in kilograms) each nmdel can carry. With careful loading, however, it is possible to carry a higher »laXililli»1 payload of 420kg in the 365 Astramax and 635kg in the 560. (Both figures are with a 75kg driver on board.) The existing Astra Van engine Options old 44kW (59hp) or 55kW (744) 1.3litre petrol, and the 66k W (894) 1.6litre petrol and 40kW (54hp) 1,600cc GM diesel are all carried over to the Astramax.
