Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

The Iraq authorities have forbidden trailers from going to the Gulf port of Basrah, owing to continuing hostilities in the area.

The closure of one of the country's three clearance depots, the others being Mosul and Baghdad, has meant an increase in the number of loads being channelled into and discharged at Baghdad.

It is now up to the consignor and consignee to arrange an alternative destination after clearance at Baghdad.

International haulage operator Whittle International has advised shippers to agree and specify an alternative destination to Basrah when opening letters of credit. This will ensure that trailers are routed as closely to the required delivery point as possible.
