• Standard Lists covering vehicles and trailers manufactured in 1968/69 have now been.published and are available from Her Majesty's Stationery Office.

The lists give the maximum gross weights, individual axle weights and, in the case of articulated vehicles, maximum train weights, for most standard types of load-carrying goods vehicles and trailers. They cover, for each make of vehicle, all the individual models manufactured in 1968/69, including third-axle conversions.

Non-listed vehicles and listed vehicles which have been modified so that they are no longer in standard form will need to be assessed individually when brought in for their first test at the Ministry's testing stations.

The criteria for assessing maximum weights are the constructional features of the vehicle, ability to meet braking requirements at the proposed weights. and the fitting of appropriate tyres. These criteria are included in the Goods Vehicles (Plating and Testing) Regulations 1968.
