MOTORWAY service areas should be subject to compulsory purchase orders and there should be rigorous inspection of their facilities.
That is the opinion of the Transport and General Workers Union in its latest report on motorway service areas.
"Provision for transport drivers is often ignored at these areas — especially in winter," says the union, and they accuse the operators of having "an unchallengeable monopoly."
