Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

All set to provide visitors to the Longlest estate of the Marquis of Bath with a mobile grandstand seat of jungle life in "darkest" Wiltshire is this leopard-spotted 12-seater Ford Transit bus. "Great White Hunter" Roger Corley, here seen partly at the wheel of the safari bus, will take visitors on tours this summer of the estate that will include sights such as 32 lions and—new rivals for the limelight-15 hippos in a lake in the centre of which will be an island home for giant apes.

Away 'Match'

T PRESUME that Aston Villa is playing at home this weekend. 1 For its coach has an "away" event—the British Coach Rally at Brighton. It's a Bristol----with a rear-mounted Leyland engine and specially designed luxury coachwork by Plaxtons of Scarborough—first of the modern Bristol marque to be purchased by a private operator (Flight's Tours of Birmingham).

The Camera Cannot Lie

GOOD wheeze from a company specializing in body repairs. It was having bills disputed from time to time—sometimes because the vehicle owner had never seen the vehicle in its damaged state. One imagines that a driver involved in a hefty shunt had had the vehicle towed away for repair, after a quick word with the office, and had then told the guynor that he'd got -a bit of a dent". Which didn't quite square with a bill for a couple of hundred pounds. Now the firm simply takes a quick snapshot of each vehicle as it arrives. It is no display photo—but it's an awfully convincing piece of evidence when asking for payment of the bill.

Problem Age

BURLY boys and buxom girls set a problem for South Wales Transport Co. conductors in the Amman Valley villages of Glanamman and Garnant. The conductors refused to believe that some of their passengers were young enough for half fare travel.

So conductors in doubt took a child's address and an inspector called at the child's home to make an age check. But parents objected to Cwmamman Council. And the Council and the company conferred.

Result: SWT now issues certificates to children of "exceptional shapes and sizes" after seeing their birth certificates. So in cases of doubt it's "all fares and certificates, please".

Grant No. 000001

CRAIG MACDONALD, director and general manager of Albion Motors, Glasgow, received Scotland's first investment grant last week from P. D. M. King, director of the Glasgow investment grants office. Albion's claim was received on the day that the Board of Trade opened its grants office in the city. The grant represents 40 per cent of Albion's expenditure for the first quarter of 1966 on new machine tools and so on. The payment order: No. 000001.

CVRTC Call

T HAVE received a copy of the monthly news sheet published 1 by the Commercial Vehicle and Road Transport Club and learned that this organization, like so many more, has to rely on a subsidy to keep financially stable. About £50 a year will be required. it seems, despite a subscription increase to 15s.

Launched two years ago, the club now claims a membership of 80, including members in the USA and New Zealand. The organizer tells me that, to the best of his knowledge, it is the only enthusiasts' transport club which can rightly claim to be international. This claim, I am sure, would be quickly shot down by the Omnibus Society, established way back in 1930 and which has overseas members.
