Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE accompanying illustrations show a Maudslay Magna chassis,' with a Gardner 5LW oil engine, equipped with a 32-seater super-luxury coach body built by Duple Bodies and Motors, Ltd., Edgware Road, Hendon, London, N.W.9. This machine is one of four built to the order of Neath and Cardiff Luxury Coaches, of Neath, for opera tion on regular express service between Cardiff and Swansea.

Regarding the exterior, it will be seen that the lines of the body are unbroker. and swept from front to rear, the highest point being in the centre. A somewhat unusual aspect is given to the front by the total enclosure of the radiator, which is embraced in the fullfronted cab. The latter has a six-panel screen, the upper sections of which are capable of being opened.

The service monogram is neatly incorporate° in the central V of the polished aluminium radiator grille, which, in conjunction with the built-in C.A V.Bosch lamps, lends to the machine an air of distinctiveness. On the near side is a Simms fog lamp, and, to give a balanced effect, there is a circular grille on the off side, enclosing the horn. • At the rear there is a capacious locker for luggage, the spare wheel also being dccommodatecl therein. Two doors, swinging outwards, permit of convenient access being gained to this compartment.

The full-drop windows, of which' there are seven, are by the WilmotBreeden concern, the cappings between the waist line and the cant-rails being in stainless steel. Flared wings are used both front and rear, the flare line between the body and wings being outlined in polished alloy.

On the near side, and centrally disposed, is the sliding entrance door, and immediately opposite to it, on the off side, is the emergency door, The exterior finish is in two shades of brown, with motifs in polished alloy and lettering in gold leaf, with black edging.

Typical of the highest development in luxury-coach appointment, the interior presents an: atmosphere of roominess and a high degree Of comfort There are 14 seats on each side of the gangway and four running across

the rear end, Dunlopillo cushioning on Duple standard seat frames being used, The Firth's Royd moquette upholstery is finished in Connolly's red leather on the head rolls and cheek sides.

There is a rug rail on each double seat-back and rubber-covered tubular

foot-rests are provided. Two extralarge parcels racks are provided on each side of the body, the diamond-section hand-rails being in polished alloy, in keeping with the rest of the interior

metal fittings. A clock, mirrors and twin loud-speaker grilles are carried on the front bulkhead, the base of which is in walnut and sycamore.

Sorbo-rubber is •used for the gangway. The finish of the Duple standard sliding-panel roof is in keeping with the general interior appointment, the fawn Rexinc which frames the walnut and sycamore veneers being in pleasing contrast to the Firth's red Velmoda finish running down to the cant-rail.

B.M.A.C. pillar lamps, of pleasing -design, are responsible for the interior lighting, and each of the main pillars is provided with a curtain of a light brown shade.

A single Clayton Dewandre fan-type beater, in conjunction with adequate ventilation arrangements, ensures the maintenance of a comfortable tempera-. tore. Right throughout, the joinery work is in light walnut and the general finish is of the high standard one is accustomed to associate with bodywork emanating from the works of the Duple concern.
