Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A. memorandum relating to the London Passenger Transport Bill has recently been addressed to debenture stockholders and shareholders in the Underground group of companies by the secretary, and in it attention is. drawn to the fact that the Bill, which has been read a second time in the House of Commons, has, with the concurrence of the House of Lords, been referred to a joint committee of both Houses, which will begin its sittings on April 28th.

It is emphasized that the time for lodging petitions will expire on April 17th, and whilst petitions are being lodged on behalf of companies in the Underground group, the secretary mentions that it is open to debenture stockholders who desire to lodge, before that date, petitions with the proper Parliamentary authorities, and to appear in person or by counsel before the joint committee. A reproduction of the letter which Lord Ashfield recently sent to the Minister of Transport is embodied to define the attitude of the boards of the companies concerned.

We are interested to learn that Mr. Fred R. Kay, whose name will be familiar to many of our readers by reason of his association with the Vulcan commercial-vehicle concern, has been invited to join, as sales director, the board of Brake Linings, Ltd., of Buxton, which manufactures Duron friction linings.
