by JOHN AMOS, traffic manager with Transcare at Stansted, Essex. The award, which carries with it a £2,000 cash prize, is made annually by contract driving company Overdrive in association with Motor Tran sport magazine.
Mr Amos beat 30 other finalists from all over Britain by coming top in a two-hour examination held at Eindhoven, Holland, to test candidates' knowledge of transport laws and procedures. His prize included a tour of the manufacturing and test facilities of Daf Trucks, which hosted the finals.
