RESPONDING TO THE CALL (CM, September 29) from the Prices and Incomes Board for views and comments from operators on the subject of transport productivity, J. Brevitt Ltd., general carriers, of Willenhall, Staffs, have written to the Board to put one point forcibly: efficiency will follow competition.
The company secretary and director, Mr. J. T. Rissbrook, in his letter to the NB, says: "The answer is to force the haulier to compete with the operator next door. If he is to stay alive he must be efficient, or else he will neither keep his customers' business nor will he even obtain it in the first place".
