for the conveyance of petrol tankers on the Woolwich ferry boats across the Thames. This follows the discovery that the Merchant Shipping (Dangerous Goods) ,Rules, 1952, would normally apply to the boats. Representations Were made that coraplianee 1.ivith the 'rules,. which require the submission of written statements about each load: would lead to confusion and delay and make the working of the ferry impracticable. The Ministry have therefore decided to exempt the ferry from the rules, and the London County Council are re-examining their -ferry by-laws.
