Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

LIVE new coach and bus bodies on J. Bedford passenger chassis equipped with oil and petrol engines will be shown and demonstrated at the Glasgow depot of S.M.T. Sales and Service Co., Ltd., during the Scottish Show.

A new extra-heavy-duty clutch is fitted to all the chassis, whilst the oilengined vehicles have 24-volt electrical equipment, a vacuum exhauster for the braking system and weigh about 41 cwt. more than the petrol versions.

The bus has a Duple 40-41-seat fullfronted metal-framed body weighing about 1 ton 9 cwt. If two doors are fitted, the capacity is reduced to 39 passengers.

Construction is of bolted metal with square tubular steel pillars and roof members, channel cross-bearers and special alloy interior panels. The roof panels are of steel, but aluminium exterior panels are used. Tubular steelframed seats are employed, upholstered in rubberized hair with rubber cushions and finished in plastic. The kerb-weight of this bus with a petrol engine is 4 tons 9 cwt.

Luggage accommodation has been increased to 80 cu. ft. in the new Duple Super Vega body now fitted to the Bedford chassis. It has seating for 36 passengers, whose comfort is increaged by the observation-roof ventilator ' panels at the front and rear. A sliding roof is optional equipment. Excellent forward visibility is provided by large double-curvature windscreens, curved quarter glasses, glazed front canopy panels, Perspex roof panels 'and a new low waistline.

The standard exterior panels of aluminium are unstressed and easily replaceable, and all the panel cavities' are ventilated. The body is available in widths of 7 ft. 6 in. and 8 ft., the wider vehicle weighing 4 tons 18 cwt. with a petrol engine.

Sweeping lines, a deep windscreen, curved quarter glasses and deep polished metal mouldings distinguish the Riviera 35-seater coach body made by W. S. Yeatits, Ltd., Loughborough. This body on the Bedford passenger chassis is of composite construction, using metal for the pillars and truss plates, with aluminium exterior panels. Kerb weight is 4 tons 18.cwt.

The Plaxton Venturer body has seating for 35-37 passengers and a rear luggage compartment of 90 Cu. ft. The , body is of composite construction with a swept dome roof and the sides panelled in aluminium. A sliding door is fitted immediately behind the front axle.

The interior appointments are luxurious, with waist-high lining panels covered in Plaxide and the seats trimmed in moquette. The weight of the complete vehicle with petrol engine is 4 tons 19 cwt.

H. V. Burlingham, Ltd., Blackpool, have adapted the Seagull body to the Bedford. It normally has seats for 35 passengers, but with armchairs the capacity is reduced to 31 passengers. The 35-seater weighs 4 tons 19 cwt.
