THE formation of a Bristol vehicle observer

corps was unanimously agreed at a meeting sponsored by the Road Haulage Association Ltd. in Bristol last week. The meeting was opened by the Chief Constable, Mr. George Twist, and Insp. J. Jackson, crime prevention officer. Bristol Constabulary, was one of the guest speakers.

In addition to RHA members the meeting was also attended by TRTA members, furniture removers, taxi operators and representatives from the AA and RAC and a steering committee was appointed.

Nil Extension: A further four miles of the SheffieldLeeds motorway (M1) is to be built between the villages of Blackburn and Tankersley, extending northwards from the Meadowhall-Blackburn section. It will rim from north of Grange Lane (B6086) near Blackburn, to a point just south of the proposed Tankersley interchange with A61 and A6135.
