the " reversible " design of Strachans (Successors), Ltd., Wales Farm Road, North Acton, London, W.3. The first example of the new type has recently been completed on a Leyland Royal Tiger chassis to the order of Jackson's Cleveland Coaches, Ltd., Guisborough.

Identical front and rear treatment is the most outstanding impression gained on first sight of the vehicle. At the front, full-width panelling splays out beneath the windscreen, and at the rear, the luggage locker is similarly built out. Identical windscreen glasses, rear lights and curved corner panels are used at the front and rear. Furthermore, the same shape of mud-wing is used at both ends n16 of the vehicle; the front one, however, is reversed and the rear one normally disposed.

The bodywork is composite. A sliding 'central 'entrance leads into the interior, which provides comfortable seating for 35 passengers. Full-drop windows all round and the curved corner panes at the front and rear ensure excellent visibility. Radio and heating installations are up to full luxury standards and full-length luggage racks run down both sides of the interior.

The use of anodised alloy mouldings with a gold finish is another original detail. At the front, the ventilating-air intake is finished in this way, and inside, the moulding along the luggage racks is similar. External finish is in two shades of green, and inside, use is made of polished veneered panels in the roof, which carry flush-fitting lamps. Rubber flooring is employed and wheel-arches have almost been eliminated
