Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• A portable braking device that allows a recovery operator to use the air brake system of a multi-wheeler casualty is being marketed by Ron Grice of Creetown, Wigtownshire.

Grice, formerly with Wreckers International, developed and patented the Tow-Brake jointly with George Graham of Auto Recovery, Carlisle.

It fits over the brake pedal in the broken down vehicle's cab, and using an air pressure suzie from the towing vehicle's red emergency line, brakes are applied to the casualty's wheels on the ground. The braking pressure is proportionate to that applied by the driver of the recovery truck.

Grice's device retails at around £350 and will be available from next month from AVRO Marketing on (0634) 251574 and other recovery equipment retailers.
