• A new training centre dedicated to fitters employed in the fast fit industry has been opened in Cannock. Lloyds Br,itish Training has invested over £100,000 in the new centre which will offer courses on tyre, exhaust and shock absorber fitting; clutch, cooling system and electrical inspection and maintenance; car servicing and engine tuning.
Up to 24 students a week will pass through the centre and will have the latest equipment to train on. Fees are £45 per person per day, accommodation is extra and there is an additional cost for City and Guilds courses.
Special courses can be run to individual employers' requirements and new courses will be added to the curriculum as the industry requires.
