• X-amp is a mobile battery booster designed for fitting into a service or breakdown vehicle. The unit is wired into the service van's alternator and has two plug-in leads to connect to a stricken vehicle's battery or batteries.
Prom a 12-volt alternator both 12 and 24 volt boosting is available. The unit will boost an FICVs batteries that are too low to start the engine in four minutes.
When not used for boosting other vehicle's batteries the unit Lakes over the function of the voltage regulator on the service van's alternator. X-amp costs 1325 ex VAT and weighs 9.5kg.
