THE trend towards articulated' vehicle working in British Road Services Ltd., the general haulage company, has now reached the stage where purchase of rigid vehicles over 14 tons gross has been discontinued, except for a very few eightwheelers for specialized purposes. Only a very small number of these are on order for next year, and six-wheelers were discontinued some time ago. B.R.S. says the chief aim in turning so fully to articulation is to enable drivers to return home at night, this having both social and economic benefits.
