TIR specification removals van dy has been designed by Vanan Ltd, Warrington, using the derfloor-engined Volvo B58 ach chassis. One of the body's rime features is its roomy :reamlined sleeper cab, incororating heating and demisting luipment made by KL Automove Products Ltd.
This is the first Volvo coach iassis to form the basis of a 3ntechnicon. A few have been jilt as horseboxes, but Vanplan 3s exclusive building rights for 3ntechnicon applications.
A two-berth sleeping compartlent built above the driving cab long enough to take two bunks -ranged longitudinally either de of a central access ladder. The driving part of the cab has KL A 3371 Double Clearway ?,ater/demister mounted under e floor on the passenger side ith five outlets — two for de
misting the deep windscreen and three directing warm air at foot level. The Double Clearway can provide nearly 15.5kW of heat when the air is cold. Alternatively, during high ambient conditions, the unit will provide 380cuft min of fresh air to ventilate the cab. Full cooking and washing facilities and a refrigerator are contained in the cab, while gas bottles and water tank are chassis-mounted.
Its metal-framed body is clad in ribbed aluminium exterior panels, and the front dome and roof are made of glass-reinforced plastics round-edged at the front to reduce air drag. Fuel consumption figures of 13 mpg are quoted on mixed motorway and urban running from the 260hp 11m van.
