WIE regret to record the deaths of Mr. VI' A. E. P. Crane, Mr. H. W. Dawes and Mr. G. W. Walker.

Mr. Crane. was a director of Serck Radiator Services, Ltd, a position he had held since 1957. He joined Serck in 1929 as manager of the repairs department in Birmingham and subsequently held several positions with the company.

Mr. Dawes, who was 65, retired last December as managing director of Dennis Bros., Ltd. He entered the works as an apprentice in 1913 and after war service he returned to Dennis wherehe engaged in the specialized design and construction o" municipal vehicles. He joined the hoard in 1942, became joint managing director in 1954 and sole managing director in 1955. A well-known figure in the municipal world, he also made many friends overseas in developing the company's export business.

Mr. Walker, of Nettleham, near Lincoln, a pioneer haulage contractor, died on October 2 at the age of 77. He started business after the First World War with one steam wagon, and ended with a fleet of diesel lorries, which was bought by British Road Services after the Second World War.
