THE rates committee of the Metro' politan and South-eastern Area of the Road Haulage Association has recommended the following rates to members, as guides when tendering to the General Post Office for Christmas traffic in the London postal region:—

The minimum daily .hiring period is hours, except for Sundays and Christmas Day, when it is 5 hours. An extra 4d. per hour is to be charged for work between 9 p.m. and 6a.m. Extra wages paid for work on Bank Holidays, Sundays, etc., are to be additional charges.
