Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE R40E, a development of the Monoply all-steel wide flat treaded tyre, is the first result of a £13m investment at the Uniroyal Englebert heavy service tyre plant in Belgium.

New methods of production improve tolerances during mixing, building and curing to give maximum casing durability with increased first life mileage and the possibility of at least one regrooving and retreading life. The use of new materials, construction changes and the inclusion of an improved air-tight inner liner have contributed to the tyres' performance.

The R4OE now claims a major reduction in rolling resistance compared to competitive tyres, giving savings in fuel of up to 308 gallons over 62,000 miles.
