FORD claims to have achieved its most successful month ever in October with a record heavy truck share of 37.4 per cent.

In all, 2265 units were regis-, tered in the UK against 873 units, 63 during October 1982, representing an increase of 259 per cent.

"October was also the most successful month Cargo with 2221 units registered outselling comfortably its nearest three competitors combined," says Ford. Cargo has also exceeded the best month achieved by its highly successful predecessor — the D-Series — which registered 2044 salesin October 1978.

Year-to-date Ford has maintained its strong market leadership with a share of 23.0 per cent — up slightly from 22.5 for the same period last year.
