Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• When the driver presses the brake pedal, a deceleration value is imposed. The electronic line connected to the brakes regulates the pressure in the tractor's brake cylinders, activating the engine braking and, where fitted, the transmission brake. It also modulates the feed pressure of the trailer brakes, to optimise the braking effort over the tractor-trailer combination.

The EBS-equipped trailer receives both the electronic brake demand signal and the pneumatic demand to apply the brake automatically via the vehicles CANbus. When the tractor has ABS only, functionality is through the pneumatic control line.
