THREE additional bodybuilders are

offering standard integral van bodies based on the Thames Clearway chassis (The Commercial Motor last week).

Scottish Aviation, Prestwick Airport, Scotland, is to make a 500-cu.-ft. body costing £290, whilst Scottish Co-operative Wholesale Society Ltd., Leith, Edinburgh, has designed a body of about the same capacity costing £320. The third bodybuilder, Duramin Engineering Co. Ltd., Stonefield Way, Ruislip, Middlesex, offers a body with internal dimensions of 12 ft. long by 6 ft. 2 in. wide by 5 ft. 9 in. high, giving a capacity of about 426 Cu. ft, Prices (approx.): £295 in steel, £430 in light alloy.

The Clearway is sold by Ford as a chassis/front end, the price for the 1-5termer being £766, the 2-tonner, £796 and the 3-tonner, £836. These prices are for the petrol-engined versions, the dieselengine option costing £126 more on the 1.5-ton and £120 on the 2and 3-ton.
