Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A NEW bus terminal has been built in New York at a cost of $7.5m. to deal with up to 7.000 passengrs a day

flying from the International and La Guardia airports. Until another terminal is completed, the traffic of Newark airport will also be dealt with.

In 1940, a terminal was opened in another part of the city, but the great increase in air passenger traffic entailed the use of numbers of additional separate premises scattered in various places. New York airports now handle nearly 7m. passengers a year, and buses make some 750 trips to the airports each day. The new terminal centralizes the different facilities and can accommodate 7,000 passengers daily.

At street level there are garage space and fully equipped maintenance shops for the buses, The first floor comprises a waiting room covering 18,000 sq. ft., with ticket offices and 15 loading bays for the vehicles. There are more ticket offices on the mezzanine floor, whilst on the roof there is a park that will take 300 cars.

Twenty domestic and foreign airlines co-operated with the municipality in the construction of the building, which is leased for 20 years by the East Side Airlines Terminal Corporation. Parts of the roads leading away from the terminal are being made more suitable to take the increased traffic.
