THE abolition of purchase tax on vehicles and a CUE of Is. per gallon in the fuel tax were demanded by Mr.

T. Stuart Malcolm, President of the Motor Agents' Association, when he spoke at the dinner of the West Midlands Division last week.

He said that if fuel tax were reduced, the Treasury would lose no revenue.

Mr. R. Gresham Cooke, director of the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders, said that the industry aimed at producing 1m. vehicles this year.
