Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

PRIMARILY intended for cutting building materials, a sheet saw with a replaceable blade may be of interest to bodybuilders as it can be used to cut metal-faced plywood, plasticsfaced hardboard, Pormica and similar

laminates and certain insulation media.

It is produced by latnes Neill and Co. (Sheffield). Ltd., 'Sheffield, 11, and is known as the Eclipse No, 56. Having a 1-ft. 4-in. blade, it is a larger version of the I-ft. saw introduced earlier for cutting metal.

Three types of blade are offered. That with six teeth per itt. is recommended for soft materials over -1 in. thick, 10 teeth per in. for most materials from in. and hard materials over in., and 14 teeth per in. for all materials from 3/164 in.

The tool has obviously wider versatility than an ordinary saw, although a slight disadvantage may be that it is not possible to withdraw the end through a cut because of the attachment of the blade to the major section. The No. 56 costs El 2s. 6d., with two blades, individual blades being 2s. 6d. each.

Welding Plastics OE interest to manufacturers or repairers of upholstery, electrode strips, by means of which plastics sheets can be welded are offered by Radio Heaters, Ltd., East Heath Avenue, Wokirigham, Berks. The "strips have a variety of edge patterns and may be bent to required contour. They are then bolted to a mounting block for attachment to the welding machine. Two sheets to be welded to each other are then placed under the block, and heat applied through the strip effects the bond.

Several sizes of mounting are available to cover a wide range of sizes and shapes of electrode strip. The method of forming the electrode is claimed to be the cheapest and quickest of its kind.

Molybdenum Lubricants DETAILS of their lubricants incorporating molybdenum disulphide are given in a publication produced by Rocol. Ltd., Ibex House, Minories. London, E.C.3. The booklet describes the properties of molybdenum disulphide, and the 28 Rocol oils, greases and anti-scuffing compounds based on this material are listed.

Jerrican Pourer AN aluminium pourer which may be attached to a jerrican is offered by J. E. Lesser and Sons, Ltd., Green Lane, Hounslow, Middx. Two steel claws hold the pourer in place and there is a neo

prene seal in the base. A breather tube is provided and two gauzes are supplied. a coarse one for use with dirty liquids, and a fine water repellent mesh.

The inside of the 7-in, spout is tapered from 1?-, in. down to 1 in. so that a rubber tube may be accommodated to facilitate pouring into an aWkwardly placed receptacle. Cost of the pourer is 7s. 6d.

Tyre Plasters

TYRE-REPAIR plasters made of nylon and rubber and designed in one shape to fit any part of a cover have been introduced by Romac Industries, Ltd., The Hyde, London, N.W.9. The plasters are available in seven sizes from 4-9 in., are thin and flexible, and feature feathered edges to avoid pinching of the tube. Treated plasters ready for immediate application and untreated patches for use in the normal way are both available.

CO2 Extinguisher

QUPERSEDING the model 1210 extinL.) guisher, the model 1510 10lb. carbon-dioxide extinguisher of Nu-Swift, Ltd., Elland, Yorks, has a range of 15 ft. compared with 8 ft, for the previous type.. Nozzle redesign has doubled _capacity and the 1510 is stated to be capable of putting out an area of 18 sq. ft. of liquid fire.

Carbon dioxide, although less efficient for fire fighting than dry powder. can he made to penetrate into otherwise inaccessible places, and is suitable for fighting indoor fires or those in electrical or electronic equipment. .

Know Magnesium AVAILABLE from the Magnesium Industry Council, 15 Took's Court, London, E.C.4, "This Is Magnesium" is a booklet in which the properties and applications of this metal are described. It is stated that magnesium can often compete in cost with other light metals because its higherprice is offset by cheaper and faster production processes and appreciably extended die and machine-tool life.
