THE pilot studies into regional transport problems being carried out by local economic planning councils were this week outlined by the Minister of Transport.

Mrs. Castle said that the integration of passenger transport services was being studied in the Tyneside area, Sheffield, Leicester, and in the area between Liverpool and Manchester, the co-ordination of goods transport was being looked into to and from Immingham, to and from Harwich, Felixstowe and Ipswich, between the West Midlands conurbation and Liverpool and to and from a major manufacturing plant in the south-east.
