Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

We were recently afforded an opportunity of inspecting a new design of ambulance constructed by the Star Engineering Co., Ltd., Wolverhampton. The body is designed to accommodate nine stretchers which are carried in three sets of three. They are not arranged in the usual manner, but, as will be seen from one of our illuntrations reproduced herewith, are carried at the driver's end of the body. They, however, can be easily drawn to the rear end along grooves in the floorboards.

When the .stretchers are at the far end of the body, four chairs, whkh are so designed that they can readily be made to collapse, can be raised from beneath a cover on the floorboards. A polished-wood table, which is intended to be used as a receptacle for small medical necessities, is also provided in the centre of the body. When this table is not in use it can be closed down and conveniently stored in a well beneath the floorboards, thus allowing the middle set of stretchers to be drawn forward.

The body itself is of ample dimensions, being 12 ft. long, 7 ft. wide, and 6 ftin height. It is painted w white on the inside. This ne Con dy is

struction of ambulance bo mounted on the standard 50-cwt. Star chassis.

An interesting feature about theā€¢ vehicle is the Sankey detachable twin rear wheel which is fitted. Each pair of rear wheels is shod with Dunlop pneumatic tires, one of which is grooved whilst the other is steel-studded. This combination of tire treads has been made as a precautionary measure to prevent skidding. Should it be found necessary, the outside rear wheels can be taken off by simply removing a number of bolts. The distance piece can then be removed and the bolts replaced to hold the single rear wheels in position. This new ambulance is not elaborately fitted up, and it does not carry the necessary medical appliances for attending to the wounded. It is primarily intended for the quick conveyance of a, number of patients, which have previously been medically treated, from the scene of action to the base hospital.
