The tipper body has been fitted by Tipmaster and has a removable Derby dust hood.

Bill Billingham, product support manager at Peugeot Talbot, says that owing to UK legislation the British version's crew cab will not have doors and windows.

• Leyland Truck's growing interest in the municipal vehicles market is shown by the number of vehicles on its stand this year. There will be nine vehicles altogether, including three Roadrunners, three Freighter 13.11s, a Constructor 8 8x4, and a Leyland Cub 25-seater bus.

The Roadrunners will be fitted with three different body types. One Roadrunner 8.12 will be fitted with an Edbro three-way tipper body; another 8.12 will have Multilift skip lifting equipment; and a 10.12 will be shown with a Norba refuse collection body. • Mercedes-Benz is reducing the size of its stand this year and will exhibit one vehicle, a Unimog 1,000.

The vehicle is expected to he on static display for most of the exhibition, but there should be opportunities to test it. Drivers will be able to experiment with an odd combination of fittings on the vehicle: a Schmidt snow blade on the front and a Bomford and Evershed grass cutter on the rear.

• A suction sweeper fitted to a Dodge Commando will make its debut at the exhibition. The 7.5-tonne sweeper has been developed by Econ. The company claims that the compact design of the vehicle gives good visibility and manoeuvrability, while the high-sided tank can hold up to 910 litres of water. The vehicle will be on active demonstration at the exhibition in lefthand-drive form, although a dual-control version is also available.

El Local authority road markers and private contractors will be interested by Prismo's Popular Range of small road marking and maintenance equipment. The range, which was simplified and modernised at the end of last year, includes paint and thermoplastic marking machines, plastic and sealant preheaters, sealants and bituminous materials applicators, hot compressed air units, and a trailer which can be fitted to customers' requirements.
