• Within weeks of closing the doors on this year's International Handling and Storage Exhibition its organisers have announced the next one. IHSE'89 is scheduled for September 1989 and will once again be at the National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham.

This year's IHSE attracted 28,704 visitors during its fourday run, surpassing even the organisers' expectations.

• We have news of three events for historic commercial vehicle enthusiasts: • The first is the Sandwell Historic Vehicle Parade and Transport Show at Dartmouth Park, West Bromwich. This is the ninth year of the show and the organisers promise that more than 400 vehicles will congregate at the Savacentre, Oldbury at 10.15am on Sunday May 11 for the 32km (20 miles) parade to West Bromwich.

Admission will be free at Dartmouth Park, where there will be around 650 vehicles of all types, dating back to the early 1900s.
