Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

ACONTRACT A to B licence switch bid by Road Services (Caledonian) Ltd., of Glasgow, was successful in Glasgow last week.

The applicant asked for 11 vehicles to carry goods for Crosse and Blackwell Ltd., Nestle's Ltd., James Keiller and Sons Ltd., Elizabeth Lazenby and Sons Ltd., Chocolate Tobler Ltd., and Maggi Distributors Ltd.

Mr. T. H. Campbell Wardlaw, for Road Services, said that the company would amend the application to restrict the radius to 60 miles. This met the needs of British Railways, the only objectors, and they withdrew.

Mr. Wardlaw said that Nestle's Holdings wrote to the applicant saying that it wished to cancel the present contract A licences and transfer the vehicles

involved to B licence operation. This involved all the associated companies named in the normal user, and was due to reorganization of transport arrangements.

Mr. Campbell Wardlaw said that similar applications had been granted in three traffic areas in the South and that the Scottish area was the last.

Mr. W. F. Quin, the Scottish Licensing Authority, said that he was satisfied with the evidence and granted the application as amended.

A second application by Road Services for a contract A to A licence switch involving four artics to carry "mainly goods on behalf of or as directed by Airscrew-Weyroc Ltd.", was also successful.
